A grateful heart, for his glory

In brief

Pascal thanks God for freeing him from his addictions and shares the place his wife’s prayers had in his journey. He encourages perseverance in prayer and expresses his desire to make Jesus known as the way to a loving Father.

Today, I want to thank God. Thank him for everything he has done for me, for setting me back on the right path and for freeing me from all my addictions. In my life, that deliverance was sudden, like the snap of a finger.

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of his benefits!” — Psalm 103 (102):2, translated from the French quotation.

There were prayers behind my deliverance too

Yet that deliverance had a story behind it. My wife prayed for me. I also want to acknowledge the place of her prayers in what I experienced.

So do not underestimate prayer. Keep praying for your husbands, your wives and your children. Even when you cannot yet see any change, do not lose faith. Keep entrusting them to God.

Luke 18:1 reminds us that Jesus taught his disciples the need to pray always without losing heart.

This testimony is for his glory

If I share what I experienced, it is for the glory of God. I want my testimony to reach others who feel lost, who are following a path of destruction, and to help them turn towards Jesus, towards life.

“Tell them everything the Lord has done for you in his mercy.” — Mark 5:19, excerpt translated from the French quotation.

These words Jesus spoke to a man he had just delivered echo my desire to tell what the Lord has done for me.

Rediscovering the Father’s love

For me, behind addictions there is a cry for love: a search for the Father’s love, sometimes without even being aware of it. That is how I understand this deep need to be loved.

Jesus leads us back to this loving Father. He says: “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life” — John 14:6, excerpt translated from the French quotation. In this same verse, he teaches us that it is through him that we go to the Father.

He is the one I want this testimony to point towards. Thank you, Lord, for what you have done in my life. May all the glory be yours.

A prayer for you

Lord, I pray for everyone who will have read these words. May they receive the same revelation as I have, and even much more. May they experience this inner peace and this deliverance. May they, too, bear witness to your glory, and may their families be saved.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
